A new decade - a new start! There is nothing
like the start of a new year to kick into action all those plans that have been sitting on the back-burner - even more so
if its the start of a new decade. The downturn may be easing, but confidence has still to fully recover and people are
being understandably wary about how they can get the most out of their money. Well in times like these, its comforting
to know that the economics of owning a scooter have never been stronger and its highly likely will become even more so if
the predicted petrol price rises occur! And what is very satisfying to see is that scooter buyers are recognising the
longer-term value in buying better quality brands with scooters from the Piaggio group now easily the top selling brand group
in Australia in 2009. The other major trend that we've seen over
the last couple of years, and strongly accelerating in 2009, was for customers to get their automatic motorbike (ie scooter!)
license allowing them to ride large engined capacity scooters easily capable of keeping up with traffic on main roads and
even the freeway. As the controls for a big scooter are exactly the same as for a 50cc scooter (and all are easier to ride
than a bicycle!) it's definitely worth considering making the extra investment to acheive a more useful scootering solution.
Whilst most other scooter retailers have focussed on the 50cc market, we've taken the time to build what we believe is the
best range of scooters in the medium and larger capacity scooters in Australia, and we've also developed and fine-tuned mechanisms
to assist our customers get their license as quickly, cheaply and effectively as possible before they have to decide on what
scooter is the best one for them. In Perth we are extremely fortunate
to be blessed with great roads and magnificent weather so there really is no excuse. So give us a call on 9300 1719, or drop
into our showrooms, and let us help you to make 2010 your Year of the Scooter. We look forward to seeing you. Cheers

Navigating the
site If this
is your first visit this site is designed to help you do some initial research. Links to the most visited pages can
be found on the left, the rest can be found right down at the bottom of each page.
But please feel free to dig around. It's not intended to be a brochure site which is why it's a bit
scruffy round the edges. And if you can't find what you're looking for, then drop us a line in the form underneath. We try to always have a good range of registered demonstrator vehicles
available - because a test ride in the car park doesn't really cut the mustard - so you know what you get before you buy.
If you'd like to take an obligation free test ride, please contact us to arrange a time. We love to get people trying
out our scooters!
Hope to see you soon Steve

Checking the small print...
Many of our customers have never bought or ridden
a scooter before, and aren't sure where to start. We know that if you are smart enough to get onto our website, you are bound
to look at others. But here's some quick advice to keep in mind as you start looking around: 1) Make sure that you know the rideaway price. Legally all vehicle dealers have to prominently
show the final rideaway price on the vehicle that they are selling, including ads, websites etc. And rideaway means
including all on road costs with 12 months rego. We are delighted, because that's how we've been showing our prices
for years. And if you find anyone who isn't following this legislation, the ACCC would love to know about them!
If you buy a new scooter the price you pay should include rego, CTP and stamp duty. If it doesn't, you're not buying
a new one.
2) Ask as many questions as you need to. And don't forget
to ask what the drawbacks of a particular model are (well, no scooter is perfect, otherwise there wouldn't be such a
large selection) - is the salesman telling you what you need to hear, or just what they think you want to hear?
Here's a simple test of integrity - just ask what is the legal top-speed of a 50cc scooter? It's actually
only 50kmh. (Sure, there are ways to make them go faster, but that's not the point of this particular exercise!). If
you don't hear that answer, then what other untruths are you being told? 3) Don't
be pressured into making a decision which may be a poor one. We run a couple of schemes to help you work out if scooters
are for you, and to help you get the license so you can ride the one that suits your needs BEFORE you make a major financial
commitment. If you feel you are getting pushed into a sale, you probably are. Remember it's your decision, and
if it takes weeks, months or even years to make it, then that's how it should be. Our desire is your complete satisfaction
- because we want you to tell all your friends about us - so we'll wait as long as it takes you. 4) Check whether or not you can insure the scooters that you are considering. Whether you intend to insure
or not isn't really relevant here, but there are certain brands out there than insurance companies won't give cover for, because
they consider those brands and/or the companies that import them, too high a risk. If the insurance companies won't
touch them, should you? (Want to check? Give us a call, and we can run you a quote with Swann).
5) Have you heard of the brand? There are new scooter brands arriving every few months in Aus, and disappearing
just as quickly. Buying a well-known established brand will give you more peace of mind that the warranty that your
paying for is being honoured. 6) Too many ads. Adverts cost money. Lots of
money. And that money has to come from somewhere. Within the cost of Dell Computer, about 20% of your cash pays for
the advertising its taken to get you to buy it. Now work out what the value of the product you've actually bought is
when you see heavily advertised scooters - particuarly those already at bargain basement prices. How much are they really
worth?
So if you want to minimise your risk, and stay in control, you know
where to come!
