DAELIM

We've been looking to bolster our mid-priced, small scooter offerings, and are delighted to be able to bring you a couple of great scooters from Korean manufacturer Daelim.  This brand is the quiet achiever.  We sell most of these scooters to people that come in specifically to buy them - they've done their research, they know the quality, and they aren't making a mistake!

With their two-year, unlimited kilometers warranty Daelim are building on a great reputation for excellent quality and good value in Australia - and when you check these scooters you'll understand why.

Daelim S Five

The first thing that people notice when they see this this scooter are its great sporty looks.  The first thing they notice when they ride it is that exerts confidence - the handling is sure and responsive, and it feels very "planted" on the road.  It has a number of features unusual in a 50cc scooter including an engine cut-off when the side-stand is employed, and proper pillion pegs too.  Its a bit more expensive than most of the 50cc scooters on the market, but here's the thing - its an awful lot better than those scooters too!

Key features:

  • Great sporty looks
  • Sure and solid handling inspires confidence
  • Sturdy yet zippy 2-stroke engine
  • Just $3295 rideaway

Available colours: black, white/red

DAELIM S1 125

The S1 is a sleek modern scooter that really raises the bar for 125cc scooters, largely due to its very powerful fuel injected engine, as it out-performs many scooters in the "200" class!  It's definitely worthy of consideration given its pricing.  It therefore shouldn't be much of a surprise that 3 times world superbike champion Troy Bayliss recently picked himself up a new S1 125 from a dealer in Queensland.

Key features:

  • Long wheelbase & low seat makes this a suitable scooter for tall and, errr, less tall riders
  • Plenty of room for pillion passengers with enough underseat storage to fit most gear or shopping
  • with the fuel injected engine it's incredibly quick off the mark and reaches freeway speeds
  • 9.5L fuel tank, large enough to mean that you'll hardly ever see the petrol station!
  • 2 year warranty
  • Only $4,785 rideaway

Available colours: black, gun-metal grey, white, red

With 85 years under their belt producing motorbikes for bike markets internationally Derbi is one of the few companies in the current market who are ideally placed to offer a good combination of technology, passion & practicality to those who are looking for something a little different but still want the functionality and, of course, the fun factor.

Currently we stock just two models - the Rambla, a big wheeled 250cc scoot, and the GP1 250 - the ultimate 250cc racer.  Soon we hope to be able to offer the Boulevard 50 - a 12" wheeled scoot with the Piaggio HiPer engine which we think will be another winner.  Keep watching this space for availability.

DERBI GP1 250ie

The Derbi GP1 250 was perhaps the most highly anticipated scooter of 2008, and it's the one that has set all the tongues wagging with interest & excitement. Not just amongst the scooter community either! We've had a few motorbike clubs & individuals calling in to have a look. This scooter raises the benchmark for the sports scooters to a point that is unlikely to be emulated any time soon.

The GP1 comes with the now ubiquitous Quasar 250cc fuel injected engine built by Piaggio, that provides that unbeatable combination of performance and reliability. If you are looking for a scooter that looks like and handles like a motorbike, then this may be the machine for you.  Its not cheap, but given the aluminium chassis and other race features, that's totally understandable.

Key features:

  • Long wheelbase, slim sporty design
  • A 250cc fuel injected engine that could cause whiplash in the unwary
  • 11L fuel tank
  • 2 year warranty
  • Normally $9,775 rideaway - currently just $8,995

Available colours: black, gun-metal grey.

DERBI Rambla 250ie

The Derbi Rambla 250ie could be the ultimate scooter for those who want it all - a scooter for the daily commute, capable of highway speeds but also something to provide the option of weekend joy riding discovering the twisties out beyond the city limits.

If you are looking for a big-wheeled scooter, then the Rambla could be exactly what you are looking for.  It's essentially the no-longer available Aprilia Sportscity 250ie - a very popular scooter combining the performance of the Piaggio Quasar engine on a large wheeled format body with flat floor.  Very popular with motorcyclists (and motorcycle instructors!!!) this combination is proving an increasingly popular one with scooter riders.

Key features:

  • Large 15" wheels for improved road holding and handling
  • Quasar 250cc fuel injected engine
  • 11L fuel tank
  • Double disk front brake and single disk rear for incredible stopping power
  • 2 year parts and labour warranty
  • RRP is $9,335 rideaway BUT currently available at just $7,995!

Available colours: black, white
