Gilera
Gilera is Piaggio's sports brand,
and whilst there are a number of different scooters and motorcycles bearing this name particularly in Europe, the only model
currently on offer in Aus is the Gilera Fuoco. But what a model! When you buy a Gilera you join a very exclusive scooter club. With only 500cc models available, there aren't
many scooter riders who have the necessary licensing experience to ride one yet! But if you've already got your 250cc
license, drop us a line and we'll let you know how we can help to get you onto your unrestricted license - and the world of
big scooters will suddenly be your oyster! And if you think that 500cc is plenty
big enough for a scooter, then check out the bottom of the page for a model that's not available in Aus yet, but if it
does come, then it's bound to get a cult following very, very quickly!

Gilera GP800
Ok, so it's not available in Australia
(yet?), but there has already been so much written about this scooter, that we thought we'd give you a chance to see the directions
that the scooter world is moving into.
So what makes the GP 800 so special? Well, in a nutshell, the engine
size. A whopping 839cc's of V-twin power delivering 75 bhp at the crank. Even the biggest of the Japanese maxi's,
the Burgman 650, starts to look underpowered next to this fellow.
Of course to manage this power has required
some modification away from the normal scooter set-up, and many will consider the GP 800 an automatic motorcycle rather than
a scooter. But its another ground-breaker from the Piaggio group, and one that we hope will get Down Under, where vehicle
power is venerated! We'll keep you posted, so bookmark this space!!
